The Syrian Federation of Insurance Companies

The Federation comprises insurance and reinsurance companies and the Syrian General Insurance Corporation.

The Syrian Federation of Insurance Companies was established by Resolution No. 100/61 dated November 29, 2006, issued by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Insurance Supervisory Authority. The Federation includes insurance and reinsurance companies and the Syrian General Insurance Corporation.

The Federation aims to protect the interests of its members, implement professional standards, represent them before any entity regarding insurance matters, and strengthen ties and deepen cooperation among Syrian insurance and reinsurance companies, in accordance with the provisions of Legislative Decree No. 43.

To achieve its objectives, the Federation is entitled to undertake all tasks and exercise all powers that do not conflict with the provisions of Legislative Decree No. 43. In particular, it is authorized to undertake the following:

Conducting specialized studies to reduce and limit losses in various insurance branches and cooperating with relevant authorities in insurance markets that have expertise in this field.

Establishing an information and inquiry center to serve the Federation's members and the national insurance market.

In the area of ​​supporting and developing the Syrian insurance market:

Studying the insurance market and analyzing its factors and conditions to regulate and coordinate insurance activities according to its requirements.

Working to enhance confidence in the insurance sector and achieving cooperation and coordination with relevant entities locally, regionally, and internationally.

Holding professional seminars, conferences, and training courses aimed at stimulating insurance activities, conducting scientific research, and preparing statistics that serve the insurance sector.

Collecting and analyzing information related to the Syrian insurance market and global insurance markets.

Supporting technical cooperation between member companies and relevant entities through the exchange of information, expertise, and statistics.

In the area of ​​regulating competition among member companies:

Organizing joint advertising campaigns and raising the professional standards of member companies to ensure fair competition and protect their clients.

Upholding the principles and ethics of professional practice and obligating members to adhere to them, while reinforcing professional traditions and ethics among them.
